Kids Activities
Our Halloween children activities were a huge hit. Beautiful Halloween artwork and crafts were created by witches, pink princesses, ladybugs, construction workers, crayons, frogs, bunnies, gypsies and Audrey Hepburn. I decided not to take anything home to my husband as I now know it would be unappreciated. We invite everyone to come out to our Holiday children's events on December 19.
Remembrance Display
A very good friend of mine has loaned 2 replica World War II uniforms to our library Remembrance Day display.
The first uniform consists of a Jeep Cap, M41Jacket, Mountain Trousers, webgear and canteen.
The second uniform is from the First Special Service Force. The First Special Service Force were trained to parachute into Norway (Operation: Plough) and engage the enemy in mountain warfare. The operation was canceled due to plans for the invasion of Normandy (Operation: Overlord). Instead the force was sent to the Pacific Theater for the Aleutians Campaign and afterwards the Mediterranean Theater until they were disbanded.
Check out the display and the resources at the library for more information on Remembrance Day.
